A simple, step-by-step method to safely move your website from your old host to a new one without experiencing any downtime.

Purchase New Hosting
First, choose a better hosting provider based on your specific needs and budget. If you are unsure, check our Comparison Section for reliable options. Activate your new plan, but do not touch your old hosting account just yet.
Backup Your Old Website
Log in to your old hosting account (cPanel/hPanel). Use the 'File Manager' to download all your website files (typically from the public_html folder) in a ZIP format. If your site uses a database (like WordPress), export your SQL database from phpMyAdmin as well.
Upload Data to the New Server
Now, log in to your new hosting's control panel. Open the 'File Manager', upload your ZIP backup file, and extract it. If you have a database, create a new empty database on the new host and import your saved SQL file into it.
Update Domain DNS / Nameservers
This is the most crucial step. Log in to your Domain Registrar (where you bought your domain name). Go to the domain settings, remove the old 'Nameservers', and enter the Nameservers provided by your new host (e.g., ns1.dns-parking.com). This update can take anywhere from 2 to 24 hours to fully propagate worldwide.
Final Testing & Cancel Old Plan
Once the DNS has updated, browse your website to see if everything is functioning perfectly. Ensure your SSL certificate is active. When you are confident that the site is loading smoothly from the new server, you can safely contact your old hosting company to cancel your plan!
